Alabaster is translucent. Hold a piece to the light and the stone glows from within — which is why it has been carved for ornament since antiquity rather than used for building.
This selection works the material into objects for daily use: organic bowls and round trays with softly irregular rims, a set of four plates, four-inch coasters in white stone, and an onyx bowl for contrast. Each piece carries its own veining, so no two are alike.
Alabaster is softer than marble. Keep it dry, and it will hold its finish for decades.
